Bible Verse About Pregnancy

Bible Verse About Pregnancy and Bringing New Life

The Bible has many verses that speak to the process of childbirth and the joy and excitement of bringing a new life into the world. From expressing joy and thanksgiving over the birth of a baby to encouraging mothers to trust in God during difficult times of pregnancy, these Bible verses provide us with comfort and assurance that God has a plan for our lives, and we have a reason to celebrate the arrival of a new baby.

Verses Celebrating the Joy of Having a Baby

  • Psalm 127:3 – “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”
  • Isaiah 44:2 – “Thus says the Lord who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you:”
  • Psalm 139:13-16 – “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
  • Psalm 31:9-10 – “Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes are weary with sorrow, my soul and body. My life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing; my strength fails me because of my misery.”
  • Luke 1:41-45– “And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she exclaimed with a loud cry, ‘Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.”

Verses About Trusting in God During Difficult Times of Pregnancy

The Bible is filled with verses about trusting in God during difficult circumstances, and pregnancy is no different. From affirming God’s loving care for parents and children to recognizing that God is in control of our lives, these verses can be relied on to provide comfort and encourage us to trust in God during our most difficult times.

  • Exodus 23:25-26– “And you shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you. There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
  • Psalm 59:16 – “But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.”
  • Job 10:18-22 – “Why did you bring me out from the womb? Would that I had died before any eye had seen me and were as though I had not been, carried from the womb to the grave.”
  • Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
  • Isaiah 44:2 – “Thus says the Lord who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you:”

These Bible verses provide us with a reminder that God is caring and present during our darkest days and our greatest joys. Whether it is the joy of bringing a new life into the world or the fear of pregnancy health struggles, God is with us in it all. He holds the future and is there with us in the present with his mercy and grace.
