A pregnant woman’s discharge changes throughout her pregnancy. Around the time of her missed period, there may be an increase in the amount of discharge and it may become thick and white. This is caused by the increase in estrogen and is called leukorrhea. Leukorrhea is normal and is nothing to worry about.

As the pregnancy progresses, the discharge may become more watery and may have a mild odor. This is also normal and is caused by the increase in progesterone. Toward the end of the pregnancy, the discharge may become bloody and tinged with mucus. This is also normal and is called bloody show.

Discharge At 19 Weeks Pregnancy

At 19 weeks gestation, the baby has reached a stage of development where they are capable of surviving outside of the womb. If the mother’s water breaks or she experiences any other signs of labor, the baby will be delivered. If the baby is not delivered, the mother will experience a discharge called a “show.” This discharge is a mixture of blood, mucus, and placental tissue and is a sign that labor is imminent. The mother should contact her healthcare provider if she experiences any discharge during her pregnancy.
