## Is Early Pregnancy Pain Like Period Pain?

These changes can cause pain due to the stretching of the uterus, expansion of the ligaments that support the uterus, or the contraction of the uterus in the case of preterm labor.

#### Treating Menstrual Cramps

Menstrual cramps can often be treated with lifestyle changes. These may include increasing physical activity, reducing caffeine and salt intake, increasing fiber, and using over-the-counter pain medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

Unfortunately, there is no real treatment for early pregnancy pain. However, some relief can be found with lifestyle changes such as adding extra rest, wearing comfortable clothing, avoiding heavy lifting, and remaining hydrated.
