Now that you’re in your 36th week of pregnancy, your baby is getting ready to be born! His or her body is now completely formed, and the only thing left to do is grow and mature in the womb.

The lungs are still maturing, but your baby is getting practice breathing by inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid. The brain is also growing and developing, and the baby’s reflexes are becoming more refined.

Your baby is now about 16 inches long and weighs around six and a half pounds. He or she is in the head-down position, and the head is engaged in the pelvis.

The baby’s movements may be less frequent now as he or she runs out of room to move around. But you should still be able to feel plenty of kicks and wiggles.

Your body is also getting ready for labor. The cervix is thinning and opening, and the breasts are preparing for nursing.

You may be feeling more tired now as your body gets ready for the big event. Make sure to get plenty of rest and take it easy. And don’t forget to pack your hospital bag!
