The changes your body experiences during pregnancy can vary due to factors such as diet, physical activity, and pre-pregnancy weight. Some women find they snap back rather quickly while others will take more time and effort. Be patient with yourself, and be gentle.
### Get Moving
One of the best things to do post pregnancy is get regular physical activity, something as simple as walking or a low impact aerobics class can suffice. Exercise will help you tone and strengthen your body as it gradually returns, and in the process your mood and self confidence will likely benefit.
### Healthy Diet
Eating healthy doesn’t need to be conventional or boring. An appropriate diet for a postpartum woman should consist of healthy proteins, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, and minimal sugars and processed foods. Opting for foods that are rich in Omega 3s, calcium and iron are beneficial to nourish both your body and your baby’s.
### Time and Patience
Most importantly, remember that it took your body 9 months to grow and develop a baby, so it’s not exactly realistic to expect it to bounce back in just a few months. Try to practice patience with yourself and your body. Be proud of the amazing job you’ve done!
At the end of the day, while some changes may be permanent, your body will eventually return to its pre-pregnancy state if you practice perseverance and commitment. Your body has been through so much and should be appreciated for all the work it has done!
